[Solved] Windows 10 Won’t Shut Down, Restarts Instead



If your Windows 10 system restarts when you hit the shutdown button, don’t worry. You can attempt to fix your issue with methods given below.
1- Windows Update
2- Disable Fast Startup
3- Update Device Drivers
4- Windows System Files
5- Reset this PC
Trick 1: Update Your Copy Of Windows
1- Open Start menu by clicking on the Windows logo on the bottom left corner of your screen and click on Settings.

2- Click on Update & Security on the newly opened window.
3- On the right side of the window, hit Check for Updates to ensure your device is up to date.

Trick 2: Disable Fast Startup
1- On your keyboard, press the Windows Key & S together.
2- Type Control Panel in the search option and click on it. 
3- Change the view of your Control Panel to Small Icons and then click on Power Options.
4- In the left pane of the window, click on choose what the power button does.
5- Click on Change the Settings that are currently unavailable.
6- Now uncheck Turn on fast startup and save the settings.

Trick 3: Repair Windows File system
1- Right-Click on the Windows logo to open the WinX menu and click on Command Prompt (admin).
 2- Once the command prompt window is open type sfc /scannow.
 3- Wait for the process to finish and try shutting down your computer.

Trick 4: Shutdown Your Computer Using Command Prompt
1- On your keyboard, press the Windows key and S together to open Windows search and type Command Prompt.
2- Right click on the command prompt icon and click on Run as Administrator.
3- A popup for permission will appear, click on yes.
4- Type the following command in your command prompt shutdown -s -f. You will get an alert that your computer will shut down in a minute.

Trick 5: Do A System Restore
1- On your keyboard press Windows key and I together to open the Settings Menu and then click on Update & Security.
2- From the left side of the Window click on recovery.
3- Click on Get Started in the Reset this PC section and select if you want to save your personal files or not.
